Finishing Class- 4" round with Melanie Branham
Join Melanie Branham to learn the tips and tricks to professionally finishing your own round ornaments! This is a beginner class (or a great refresher), but you DO need to know how to hand sew a very basic sewing stitch. We will go through the entire process of learning to cut our canvas and mats properly, how to adhere and sew ornaments so that they stay together nicely, how to make fabulous cording to match and how to finish them off beautifully. Please Bring: * Completely stitched 4 inch or less completely round ornament * Backing fabric of your choice (keep it to a fabric on the thinner side, such as cotton or satin or something similar. Stay away from bulky, think fabrics for this first finish) * Two colors of coordinating DMC embroidery floss (sold at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, WalMart—these are not the DMC perle cotton that we stitch with.) * strong scissors to cut both fabric, canvas and thin foam board Melanie is from Easley, SC and has been teaching finishing classes for 3 years.

Santa's Beard
Stefanie Chase, of The Joy of Needlepoint, will be here August 8th from 10am- 3pm, with an exclusive Kristine Kingston canvas. This class will focus on creating unique decorative stitches for each of Santa’s beards, along with specialty stitches for the hat. Your kit will include all threads needed for these featured areas. The remaining elements of this charming canvas will not be stitched in class, but will be thoughtfully discussed, and you’ll receive a guide outlining options for completing those areas on your own.
