Basics and Binding Stitch
Join us on July 15th for a fun 2-hour beginner class where you’ll learn the basics of basketweave and continental stitching on a 13 mesh canvas! Then, return two weeks later on July 29th for a one hour follow-up session featuring binding stitches and finishing techniques. Students will choose and purchase their keyfob canvas and threads during the first class. Keyfob canvases are $48, and thread costs will vary depending on your selections.

Blue Bird
Join Janeann Sleeman on Friday, June 5th for an all day retreat stitching this beautiful Blue Bird canvas by Canvas and Thread. Class will be from 10-4 with lunch provided.

Finishing Class- 4" round with Melanie Branham #2
Join Melanie Branham to learn the tips and tricks to professionally finishing your own round ornaments! This is a beginner class (or a great refresher), but you DO need to know how to hand sew a very basic sewing stitch. We will go through the entire process of learning to cut our canvas and mats properly, how to adhere and sew ornaments so that they stay together nicely, how to make fabulous cording to match and how to finish them off beautifully. Please Bring: * Completely stitched 4 inch or less completely round ornament * Backing fabric of your choice (keep it to a fabric on the thinner side, such as cotton or satin or something similar. Stay away from bulky, think fabrics for this first finish) * Two colors of coordinating DMC embroidery floss (sold at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, WalMart—these are not the DMC perle cotton that we stitch with.) * strong scissors to cut both fabric, canvas and thin foam board Melanie is from Easley, SC and has been teaching finishing classes for 3 years.

Needlepoint Newbie- Plane on Green

You will learn to thread a needle, find out what basketweave is all about and finally realize why your friends are all obsessed with stitching! Stefanie Chase, of The Joy of Needlepoint, will be here August 8th from 10am- 3pm, with an exclusive Kristine Kingston canvas. This class will focus on creating unique decorative stitches for each of Santa’s beards, along with specialty stitches for the hat. Your kit will include all threads needed for these featured areas. The remaining elements of this charming canvas will not be stitched in class, but will be thoughtfully discussed, and you’ll receive a guide outlining options for completing those areas on your own.
