Finishing Class- 4" round with Melanie Branham
Join Melanie Branham to learn the tips and tricks to professionally finishing your own round ornaments! This is a beginner class (or a great refresher), but you DO need to know how to hand sew a very basic sewing stitch. We will go through the entire process of learning to cut our canvas and mats properly, how to adhere and sew ornaments so that they stay together nicely, how to make fabulous cording to match and how to finish them off beautifully. Please Bring: * Completely stitched 4 inch or less completely round ornament * Backing fabric of your choice (keep it to a fabric on the thinner side, such as cotton or satin or something similar. Stay away from bulky, think fabrics for this first finish) * Two colors of coordinating DMC embroidery floss (sold at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, WalMart—these are not the DMC perle cotton that we stitch with.) * strong scissors to cut both fabric, canvas and thin foam board Melanie is from Easley, SC and has been teaching finishing classes for 3 years.

If you have ever wanted to learn to needlepoint, this is your class! Come find out why needlepoint is the latest craze. You will learn to thread a needle, find out what basketweave is all about and finally realize why your friends are all obsessed with stitching! Janeann Sleeman will be here to teach you the basics, 3 stitches, how to strand threads and lots more! This is a 3 hour class, that incudes all materials, including a 13 mesh canvas painted by our very own Garnett, specifically for this class!

Join us for Paint-to-Thread, a two-day retreat with Anne Fisher and Janeann Sleeman, happening November 14th and 15th. This exclusive Anne Fisher canvas is painted in soothing lavender tones, but you can also choose blue to match my own sample. When registering, you'll select your preferred color and decide what name or word you'd like painted in the center of your cavas. Day 1 with Anne Fisher will guide you through painting your name or chosen word onto your canvas creating a custom center piece. Day 2 with Janeann Sleeman will focus on stitching as she walks you through her detailed stitch guide. You'll learn a variety of decorative stitches using silks, ribbons and beads. Lunch will be provided both days, and we'll gather for a fun Friday night dinner as well! Registration is limited, so reserve your seat today via email or by calling the shop. The $675 class includes both days of expert instruction from 2 fabulous women, all materials and 3 meals. Finishing services are not included.
